It was really good, I couldn't put it down. I could keep up with the pace of the book. I was surprised when I knew who the killer was. It wasn't the person I thought it was.

I've seen that this is supposed to be the book that everyone loves but I actually didn't think it was that good. The plot was dull and it reminded me of an episode of 'Scooby Doo.' I don't know whether it was just me but the killer seemed obvious by the second encounter with him and this had me sighing with frustration at the protagonist. For a boy who has extremely sharp eyes, he wasn't very good at putting two and two together. It may have just been his lack of willingness to believe but, to me, that made him even worse. I'll admit that the book had its times when I wanted to read more but these were over in a couple of pages and overall, the plot wasn't very gripping.

I loved the characters and how wild boy and his gymnast friend Clarrisa managed to uncover the mystery. That twist in the end was very imaginative and surprising

This book was very satisfying and enjoyable. However a bit confusing in some parts. The characters are believable because people can feel the same way about themselves and feel the same emotion. The ending was very satisfying. I would definitely recommend this book to other people, however I don't think it would be suitable for little children, as there is some mild swearing and violence.

The book is about a boy who is in a freak show and he's covered in hair, he goes on adventures and is accused of murder. The wild boy is a good book and very adventurous. Also I like it how it's set back in time when disabled people were treated really badly.

I enjoyed this book because it had a strange but quite realistic storyline. I couldn't stop reading it because I wanted to know what would happen next. I felt I knew the characters because their personalities and attitudes were described well. I think that most of the characters were believable. However, the main character, Wild Boy, wasn't as realistic. I was happy with the ending of this book because it had an unexpected twist. However, I wanted to know more about Wild Boy and Clarissa's lives after their adventure. I felt quite connected to the story as if I could feel the character's emotions at different stages. I think the settings in the story could have been described better to give the reader a better knowledge and image of it.

This is a mysterious book about a boy who is in a travelling freak show. I didn't enjoy the book because I felt like each page was just as cruel to Wild Boy as is was for me to read his horrific treatment and the fear of him on the run-constantly being a few steps from the grasp of the police. I felt like the characters where slightly believable but could have been improved. I felt I was happy with the ending but the it was too easy to predict, even after the first few chapters. Lastly, I didn't feel connected to the story because I hate the old theme of the travelling freak show.

This book is the book is the book I wanted to read all along because of all the positive reviews I had read. I had expected high quality of the book, and was not disappointed. It follows the adventures of wild boy and his friend Clarissa as they try to solve a crime. It's quite similar to the Sherlock homes series as he can see things others can't like what job they have and how rich they are. The ending was not at all how I expected and very surprising but made sense when you thought about it!

At first I wasn't looking forward to reading this book but I decided to because my friends kept telling me it was AMAZING. It turned out I couldn't put the book down and I was reading it everywhere (even on the bus home!). I really enjoyed this murder mystery and I found that each chapter was full of excitement and suspense. The ending was really a huge shock and I was quite disapointed that it was the end of the book already! I liked how it was created along the lines of Sherlock Holmes but with a twist. This is one of my favourite books ever!

This book has inspired me to read more books in general! It was a very good read and I loved the suspense throughout the book. The storyline is basically about a boy from a workhouse who is sold to the circus and is known as a freak due to his extremely hairy body. The name given to him by Mr Finch (his master) is Wild Boy. He is then accused of murder and so Wild Boy and Clarissa Everitt are on the run to try and hunt down who did it. The ending was shocking and I had to read it over and over to keep seeing if it was true (It gave me butterflies every time I re-read it)! Overall a brilliant book, five stars!

I thought that this book was (overall) the bet out of all of the 6 shortlisted. It hooked me in as soon as I read the first chapter, trying to work out why Wild boy was locked up, and why he and the uncanny ability to read people with a mere glance. When he meats Clarissa Everett, an unlikely friendship is formed, which deepens throughout the story. My favourite part of the story was definitely when Wild Boy finds out the killer. It's heart wrenching and you understand why the killer did what he did. I loved the book so much!

Wild Boy was a unique and interesting book to read. Any mystery lover would enjoy this book thoroughly and appreciate the style of the novel. The main characters – Wild boy, Clarissa, Sir Oswald, etc… hooked me in, and I felt for them like I would for anybody else. The story line and theme was different and unusual, (a mixture of mystery and history), and it made me feel curious and eager to find out more. Wild boy is a book that makes you think and wonder, I would definitely recommend this book.

I really enjoyed reading Wild Boy. Although it has a sad beginning, the way the story relates to modern day friend ship is clever and original. Wild Boy and Clariss’s friendship is cute and they are perfect partners in fighting crime. I would recommend this book for boys and girls over the age of 8.

Wonderful! An exceptional, well written book. It is a mix of Sherlock Holmes and depicts the horrifying life of Victorian London. At times the reader will find themself asking questions, which I found intriguing. Personally I found it had quite strong characters. Wild Boy for example, displays the characteristics of a conventional Victorian thief on the run, but Clarissa, on the other hand, displays a strong, not loving, emotion towards Wild Boy, despite their predicament in earlier chapters. The protagonists In Wild Boy were interesting. At climactic points I found myself hating them much, but soon realised the impact they had on the plot. The ending was superb! There were a few questions it left me with, but am sure the sequel will make up for that. Rob Lloyd Jones has crafted an almost perfect book, with a few issues (I felt it lacked interest at points).

I really enjoyed Wild Boy for lots of reasons. However there are also some bad points. The good points are, it has a very good story line with amazing characters that draw you in. One of the bad points is it takes a while for the story to get started. Overall it was my favourite of BBA books and was one of the best books I’ve read.

I think this book really mixes many different genres of book with the way it includes facts and history within the storyline so you learn a little bit about Victorian times and the underworld. I think this means that you get more out of the book and as a result I enjoyed the book more. I also like the book because I love mysteries (Sherlock) and spies on the run. It had a powerful vibe of never giving up and staying together. For example Clarissa and Wild Boy stay together and fight together. I was also gripped by the storyline and the fast paced chase across London, however at the same time it let your mind roam to why Wild Boy didn’t change from his normal hairy self to a normal person. Despite this, about half way through the book I knew it was Sir Oswald so it wasn’t a surprise when Wild Boy said it was Sir Oswald. Overall a good book with a gripping plot.

This book was really well written and sometimes I really felt like I was in the book with the characters; I enjoyed reading it and I found it hard to put it down at times. I think that this book was incredible and also very graphic, describing everything well. I found it easy to connect with the characters, especially Wild Boy himself. Despite my love for this book I really felt that there was a lack of excitement at times and it kind of dragged on a bit. I really liked the mystery in this book and how the author blended it with the drama, it really pulled me in. I think that this book will appeal to fans of murder mystery, for instance Sherlock Holmes.

A brilliant mix of Sherlock, James Bond and Planet of the Apes. I think this portrays some modern life issues well, how some people are funny, clever or have a fantastic mind but are rejected because of a disability or how they look. Along with an action packed story line that takes you all around the city, the characters are very strong and you really get to know them throughout the book and you really care about them. This is definitely a book where it’s all about the characters, not all of the plot surrounding them.

This book is rated 5 star

This book is a killer read, crammed full of red herrings, plot twists, murders and excitement. I appreciated the fact that Rob Lloyd Jones used a significant time period to set the story in, and felt this contrasted nicely with the theme of a freak show and travelling circus. The language was very descriptive and graphic, explaining every scene, especially the murder scenes, in great detail, and I felt this helped include the reader in the plot. Despite my passion and adoration for the book, I feel the author could have substituted the word ‘said’ for a different verb at some points. However, this book still earns 5 stars because of the gripping and intense storyline.

Wild Boy was a very good book with a brilliantly detailed steam punk/Victorian setting; the characters were simple but engaging! The book always made me say one more page until I fell asleep reading. The story (though it may be quite sad) was one of the best I've read, especially the ending. The mystery overwhelms you when you get further in the book making you never want to stop reading!

Wild Boy was quite a good book and was quite immersive with its Victorian setting. The story was well set out and the accents used really emphasise the culture and time. The characters are well thought out and the plot was very intricate; it twisted and turned, slowly revealing a more modern side to the story with the idea of the machine. The ending was quite enjoyable and the book was very tense at times. This book is great and I suggest it to murder mystery fans.

I loved the book, Wild Boy, because of the breathtaking mystery that pulls you in to the most exciting book you could ever read. Another reason that I loved this book, was the fact that I couldn't stop guessing who had done the murder? Why did they want this so called machine so badly? What was the machine? The dialect was really good, because it sounded like a REAL Londoner was talking.

Wild Boy was one of the best novels I have ever read! The protagonist of this story was a boy called Wild Boy who has an unusual talent! He soon becomes friends with the unlikely Clarissa. Together they are drowned in a murder mystery and their only goal is to solve it! This book was absolutely incredible and it was absolutely jam packed with action! There was a very surprising twist at the end. The way the story was told was quite unusual as it was nearly impossible to guess what would happen next.

Wild Boy makes a brilliant character and hero who's power of observation makes him an even better hero.Clarissa is a great heroine and her acrobatic skills could easily make the book amazing. 'Wild Boy' by Rob Lloyd Jones is amazing! I think the quote 'Don't judge a book by it's cover' suits this book perfectly. Wild boy was supposedly a freak. I found this book extremely enjoyable, despite the fact that it was nothing like I've ever read before. It was one of the first murder mysteries I've read, but after this I will definitely be reading more! This book reminded me of 'Hetty Feather' which is a book, based on the Victorian era, which I loved, and I think this could have influenced my love for wild boy! I could connect with the characters, however some of them I could not imagine, such as Wild Boy. This is probably because I have never seen anyone like him, so I couldn't picture him in my head. 'Wild Boy' was amazing! It completely changed my view on people and what they are capable of. The author was excellent at describing characters and scenes, which just made me feel as if I was in the story myself. Every single one of the characters was amazing. However, Clarissa and Sir Oswald were my favourites, Clarissa because she was so feisty and is everything that I want to be and Sir Oswald, I can't explain why as this would ruin the plot of the story! I really enjoyed this book and I think there's a good plot. Clarissa is quite similar to wild boy in the way that they are both circus acts and with broken families. I really enjoyed the mystery and suspense of the story and I think it's ingenious how they work in several parts of a plot to make the story work. I also enjoyed how the little clues are left behind that make you shout out someone's name or an idea when you have several parts of the plot only to find you were sometimes wrong. I enjoyed 'Wild Boy.' It was a mystery. It was quite boring at first but after you start to read it, it is the perfect story for people who like a murder mystery book. I don't want to give it away but it is about a boy who is covered in hair so everyone calls him a freak. Whe someone is murdered, he is accused of the crime and Wild Boy is on the run. Every page you turn you seem as though you are in the book and a part of the story.

As an adult I wasn't expecting much from this book but what a surprise I got. This book is full of twists and turns. Wild Boy has always been classed as a freak and was locked away at the beginning of his life, that is until he is taken to the circus to be shown as a freak. Clarissa is the daughter of the circus owner who isn't treated very nicely by her mother; this unlikely duo bond over murder and mystery and the trust between the two grow. 'Wild Boy' has to be the highlight of my reads so far! Rob's innovative plot follows a hair-covered outcast from society as he is framed for a series of bloody murders. The price on his head grows with each page and all of London searches for him to claim their prize. However, Wild Boy didn't do it and so the reader joins him in trying to find the culprit. It's a real whodunnit novel with a fantastic twist at the end. You will be entranced as Wild Boy discovers himself and overcomes his history of abuse. In total, a thoroughly exciting read with excellent descriptions from Rob (a little too excellent at the murder scenes!) and distinct, whilst wonderfully realistic characters to guide you through the book. Honestly, the pages went only too quickly and I wait in anticipation for the sequel. I rate this book 4.5 stars out of 5.

I did enjoy the book, but in some places found it a bit tedious and felt as if I couldn't read on. I felt I knew the characters because it gave quite a bit about them away at the beginning, making it easy to understand what they were like throughout the rest of the book. Obviously Wild Boy is a fictional character, but the author made it seem real, making the characters believable. And apart from Wild Boy, the rest seemed real too, because they were human. I did feel connected with the story, because apart from the odd bit that I struggled to read it the book definitely made me want to read on.

I really enjoyed the book, as it was fast paced, exciting and an easy read. The hard terms seemed well explained and you felt as if you were in the head of the main characters. The characters were very unique and very interesting in their own way. However, they did seem to take on impossible traits and Wild boy's physique was very out of the ordinary. Wild boy was as very imaginative and scary book. The character Clarissa was very believable, but wild boy didn't feel like that(this is because of the way that they expressed his look and his personality)Also, the ending was really good ,because it tells you that you can always find a way to push yourself through it.This story made me feel like I know the characters and who they are.

Wild boy is an imaginative book, and the plot made me want to keep reading. I felt that the main characters (Wild boy and Clarissa) were exiting and were interesting to read about. The ending was predictable but made me want to read the next book in the series. Rob Lloyd Jones wrote 'Wild boy' in a way that made me feel like I was running through the streets of London with him and Clarissa. A brilliant book overall.

Rob LLoyd Jones has made me really like this book because it is full of drama, like when Wild Boy was falsely accused of murder. I felt a bit like I knew the characters; I can relate to many of there emotions. I you can find people like Clarissa in the real world, meaning some characters are belevable. The ending was ok. It ended on a weak cliff hanger. I fealt rather drawn to the book, especially the tense and dramatic parts.
